Commissioner McAllen-Miller

Millions of dollars coming from the commissioner of “International airport Texas” in consignment boxes – if I pay someone in Africa by Western Union.

Circulation: 2011

Status: Scam

The Debunking

Once again, an unsolicited email telling me of mysterious money coming out of nowhere available to me from a supposed government official. The catch is that I have to pay someone in Africa by way of Western Union. Let’s take a look:

From: Commissioner McAllen-Miller (webtdzzs@yahoo.cn)
Sent: Mon 8/05/13 3:04 AM

The first thing I want to point out is the image in the original email (see below). It shows an airport lobby with signs in referring to US Customs. The picture has nothing to do with Texas. It is a picture scraped (stolen) from Pat Patterson’s (now defunct) blog on cessnapilot.net. The picture is actually the waiting area of Shannon Airport (Ireland) for flights originating in Ireland going to the U.S.

This email is supposed to be from “Commissioner McAllen-Miller” who writes to me from a Chinese Yahoo email address. Notice that there is no name listed in the To: field because the email was sent BCC to hundreds of people at the same time.

I am commissioner McAllen-Miller the director of international airport Texas United States.

Well commissioner McAllen-Miller, I’m curious to know which “international airport” you are the commissioner of. Being that Texas is a U.S. state, I don’t think Texas itself has an international airport. Airports are usually located in cities – like the one in McAllen, Texas. It’s called McAllen-Miller International Airport. I don’t think it was named after you, sir. By the way, what is your first name?

Due to the illegal operations of fraudsters in this country America our council with the united Nation forum has established to help you and other scam victims recover your funds and consignments boxes here in America.

So far now, we have recovered 100 consignment boxes abandoned in our airport ware house and an other 50 consignment boxes apprehended from illegal fake diplomats.

Who uses the word “fraudsters” in English? What “council” is this that met with the United Nations? The actual McAllen Airport doesn’t refer to their people as “council” – they are “staff” but the airport does have an advisory board that meets with the City Council of McAllen, TX. I doubt that the City Council of McAllen has the authority to meet with the United Nations, though.

What’s with all of these “consignment boxes” sitting around airports? I am appalled at the level of security where people just bring in huge trunks filled with money and then abandon them. It seems American airports are the place to bring consignment boxes and leave them.

I don’t think these scammers understand the word “diplomat” in that they keep sending out scam emails telling about “diplomats” from UPS, FedEx and DHL bringing in consignment boxes. They seem to think that diplomats are couriers and that those companies personally escort packages from Africa to the US by the plane load. For the record, a diplomat is an ambassador or representative from one country to another – most likely to be stationed at an embassy. They don’t work for UPS, FedEx or DHL.

Due to the petitions received by the formal UN boss secretary general-general Kofi Annan from all over the continent in regards to the fraudulent activities going on in America sub-region with the Security’s agent and diplomats who has been delaying people’s funds and gold hold, consignments and valuables in their custody are demand to be releases to their owners.

I’m going to ignore the usual fact that these emails always have poor grammar and horrendous spelling, but I do want to point out that they seriously don’t understand the English language and the difference between “formal” and “former” as in “former Secretary-General Kofi Annan.” Does anyone believe that an American businessman and director of an international airport (fictitious as he may be) is going to be that uneducated?

So, about these petitions received about fraudulent activities going on in “America sub-region” with these security agents and diplomats… I have no idea where this sub-region of America is and I don’t understand the entire rest of the paragraph. Except to say that if these consignment boxes are property of the owners, why not deliver them to the owners?

I am commissioner McAllen-Miller the director of international airport Texas, McAllen-Miller commissioner of international airport Texas United States for peace keeping, appointed by the new government of (NDC) president professor Vickie Sutton, I have included

Your name into the beneficiary files of scam victims for release of 2 consignment boxes valuable of $95million us dollars and 85kilograms of gold deliver to you from the cargo department of the united nation diplomatic courier service here in Texas United State.

Let’s repeat everything everything we write, why don’t we?

So, he’s the commissioner of the airport for peace keeping? I thought his duty was to administer the airport.

He was appointed by the new government of professor Vickie Sutton, the president of NDC? I have no clue. There is a professor Vickie Sutton, who is the Associate Professor, Texas Tech University School of Law and Adjunct Professor, Institute of Environmental and Human Health, Lubbock, Texas and is the chair of the Task Force on Anti-Terrorism & Public Security at Texas Tech. Why she is appointing commissioners of airports, I don’t know.

Back to these consignment boxes. As I understand consignment, let’s say that I have a widget that I need delivered and I don’t want the hassle of delivering it. I, the owner, hand it over to a consignee (shipper) and they handle all of the tasks associated with shipping, right? But, according to these emails, someone in Africa is sending the boxes to me and I have not received the boxes yet, so I am not included in the equation. If there is a legal problem with the shipment, shouldn’t the consignee (shipper) be made to rectify the problem? Failing that, the package goes back to the owner – the person who consigned the box in Africa. All of this should be detailed in the Bill of Lading, which is a legal document. In other words, don’t come to me looking for payment to redeem something that I don’t have legal possession of. But, I get ahead of myself…

There is it – I have to pay $61 by Western Union in order to get the endorsement on some government paper. What government in the 21st century uses Western Union to conduct business? Seriously, why is someone in Benin sending me almost $100 million dollars when their backwards, third-world country barely has enough to survive on?

Let’s work this through: I have two consignment boxes coming from Africa… Why? I have never done any business with Africa. Ever. These boxes contain ninety-five million U.S. dollars and 85 kg of gold. Whoa! I’m getting $95 million dollars in cash and (at current gold prices) $3.92 million more in gold. Why didn’t I know anything about this before?? All of this is coming from diplomatic couriers. Hold on a second. I thought that all of these diplomatic couriers were fake and the UN received a bunch of complaints because of the scams going on in the sub-region of America.

I’m going to have to look into this.

Best regards
Commissioner McAllen-Miller
The director of international airport TX.

Well, thank you commissioner McAllen-Miller, director of the international airport TX. I appreciate your regards. If only it were true.

One last thing, commissioner: Why did your email address change to a Turkish email address? Don’t you have an official address at the international airport, Texas?

Conclusion

As with any email coming from a government official telling you of mysterious money from nowhere, delete it. The plan they have is to get you to send them money via Western Union. To quote the people at 419scam.org:

Western Union money transfer is completely untraceable and therefore is *not* safe to use with anyone you do not know personally. It is the preferred method of online criminals to collect money from their victims.
